Did you know that many Americans, including adults, suffer from gum disease without ever realizing it? Some studies claim that nearly half of all Americans over 30 have tooth decay. Similarly, while you may have heard that your children are safe from gum disease, did you know they’re actually as susceptible as you are?
In reality, unlike adults, children can even get tooth decay because of their bottle—especially if you give them a bottle with a sugary drink in it when you put them to bed. Sadly, milk is one of the drinks that could cause issues, as are soda and juice. If your child falls asleep with their bottle in their mouth, the liquid could pool and leave them even more likely to have tooth decay.
Luckily, you can help your child avoid tooth decay. Naturally, you shouldn’t give your child a bottle with any of these drinks in them. If your child can’t sleep without a bottle, you could give them a drink bottle with water in it. Still, there are a few things you should do to prevent decay. For example, please don’t share utensils with your child.
